Prior to scheduling your dog's behavior evaluation, we will need proof of a valid rabies vaccination as well as distemper and bordetella vaccinations. You will also need to have submitted the Service Contract form.
Owners will not be permitted in the playroom area during the behavior evaluation. Guided tours of the facility are available by appointment and can be scheduled prior to or after the evaluation.
The behavior evaluation is to help determine what level of social awareness skills your pet possesses. We will be observing your dog's reactions, body language, and social cues. we will also be assessing your dog's responsiveness to us.
In some cases, your dog may not pass the initial evaluation. We would then likely recommend that your dog obtain more training and/or socialization experience. Once your dog is ready, we will schedule another behavior evaluation. Please remember that CVH Day Stay is not intended to teach your dog socialization skills. CVH Day Stay is intended to encourage your dog's existing social skills by interaction with other properly socialized dogs. Once your dog has obtained the necessary skills, they will be able to join our Day Stay. the first two weeks will be considered a "trail run." During this time, we will continue to monitor your dog's behavior while in play groups.
We recognize that participating in Day Stay is a commitment for both you and your dog. We find that following a structured schedule works best for you and your dog.
